TEFL Society Level 3 TESOL and Level 5 TESOL Registration Policy
Upon completing TEFL Society’s in-house 120-hour TEFL course, participants need to follow this policy to continue onto TEFL Society’s Level 3 or Level 5 TESOL qualifications.
- Confirming your course
1.1 Participants must read information about TEFL Society Qualifications. Read here
1.2 Once participants complete our 120-hour TEFL course, they will be asked if they wish to continue onto the Level 3 or Level 5 TESOL qualifications, as appropriate.
1.3 Participants will be able to confirm through a webform, this will be emailed to you following completion of the TEFL Society’s 120-hour TEFL course.
1.4 To access the TEFL Society, Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications, participants must submit either a £100 deposit (refundable on completion) or qualification upgrade fee. Deposits will be returned upon submission of the course assignments. They are required to ensure commitment to completing the Level 3 or Level 5 qualifications. For any reason participants cannot be accepted onto a course their £100 deposit will also be returned.
1.5 During the webform to access the Level 3 or Level 5 qualifications, participants must submit; legal name, proof of ID, proof of TEFL Society’s 120-hour TEFL certificate and proof of payment of the fee or deposit.
1.5 TEFL Society will review your webform submission within two weeks (or less). If any further information is required from you, or to notify you of your approval for the qualification, we will contact you by email.
- Access and Registration with Awarding Body
2.1 Upon approval, TEFL Society will send participants the required links to access the portal for their chosen qualification
2.2 Following participant access of six weeks, or on submission of the first assignment (whichever comes first) TEFL Society will register participants with Gatehouse Awards, the chosen awarding organisation for Level 3 and Level 5 TESOL qualifications.
- Deposit or Course Upgrade Fee Groupings
3.1 Whether a participant must submit a deposit or upgrade fee to access the course is dependent on previous access to Gotoco affiliated teach abroad programmes. For those participating/ have participated in a Gotoco programme in which the Level 3 or Level 5 TESOL upgrade fee is included, the fee has been waived. If the participant is not sure which course upgrade options are included on their programme, they should contact their Gotoco coordinator.
4 . Participants Responsibilities
4.1 Participants are responsible for:
4.1.1 Providing accurate information
4.1.2 Maintaining current contact details
4.1.3 Completing work within any published deadlines
4.1.4 Complying with academic integrity requirements
4.1.5 Reviewing qualification information before registration
5 . Withdrawals and Deferrals
5.1 Participants wishing to withdraw should notify TEFL Society in writing.
5.2 Refund eligibility following withdrawal will depend on the stage of enrolment, course access already provided, and applicable consumer or contractual rights.
5.3 Requests to defer study may be considered at TEFL Society’s discretion.
