Candidate Access (Special Considerations and Reasonable Adjustments) Policy

The TEFL Society course is designed to be inclusive and accessible to all participants. We are committed to ensuring that learners have a fair opportunity to complete their studies and assessments while maintaining qualification standards.

1. Candidate Support

1.1 All participants can book one-to-one support calls with a member of staff during their course. These sessions are intended to help candidates overcome barriers to learning and progress confidently.

1.2 Participants are supported during on placement training through a team of experience programme coordinators, trained in making teaching opportunities accessible to all.

2. Reasonable Adjustments

2.1 Reasonable adjustments may be available for candidates with disabilities, learning difficulties, medical conditions, temporary injuries, or other recognised needs.

Requests will be considered individually and may require supporting evidence. In the event that learning material is not accessible, participants should inform the TEFL Society as soon as possible, so they can work on a solution for the specific learning material.Inform TEFL Society through info@teflsociety.org

3. Special Considerations

3.1 Special consideration may apply where a participant’s performance is affected by temporary circumstances beyond their control, such as:

4. Course Timeframes and Extensions

4.1 Participants receive 12 months’ access from enrolment on TEFL Society courses. Some programmes may include recommended completion schedules according to placement timelines.

4.2 If a participant is unable to meet these expectations, they should contact their Programme Coordinator promptly so support can be explored.

Candidates needing more than 12 months must complete the TEFL Society Extension Form. Requests will be reviewed individually and decisions communicated within a month of the form being received. 

5. Equality and Confidentiality

5.1 All requests for support will be handled fairly, sensitively, and confidentially. Any adjustments made must maintain the validity and integrity of the qualification.

5.2 All request will be recorded centrally and confidentiality in accordance to TEFL Society’s Data protection policy
